Care & Instruction
Each piece of natural material has a unique natural pattern and shade. All products of wood or bamboo are naturally beautiful and they may contain natural irregularities. Texture directions and knots are part of wood’s natural charm, and no two pieces are alike. That makes each of your products uniquely beautiful.
Natural material changes constantly and it affects the volume, color, and the wood structure. It will continue to change throughout the product’s life span. It’s important to handle the products with care.
Quality wooden product can last a lifetime and is often a treasured heirloom, passed down through multiple generations. Still, even the highest quality wood is susceptible to scratches and abrasions if not properly cared for.
To help ensure that your wood product maintains a beautiful appearance and long lifetime, you can follow the suggestions and recommendations below.
Keep away from heat: Wood and Bamboo may expand and shrink with differences in temperature and humidity. Keep all wooden products at least one meter away from a direct source of heat (heaters, radiators, fireplaces etc.).
Keep away from direct sunlight: Direct exposure of wooden products to sunlight may lead to loss of the original colour and some deformations.
Keep Dry: Remove liquids from the product's surfaces as soon as possible and store the product dry.
Cleaning: Airborne particles can build a filmy layer on wood that scratches the surface. Frequent
dusting keeps this buildup from happening.
Sometimes dusting isn’t enough. If you have a spot that is heavily soiled or sticky, dip a cloth in water that
contains a mild dish detergent. Wring it out as much as possible and gently wipe the area. Be sure to follow up with
a rinse from a damp cloth containing just water, then immediately wipe with a soft dry cloth. For tougher stains you
can try white vinegar/ baking soda/rubbing alcohol.
Rejuvenation: During day-to-day use, the oil layer gets wiped off or absorbed by the wood. In order to maintain the original color, oil should be reapplied whenever there are major surface changes. Simply use a cloth and rub oil by following the natural grain. We recommend natural oils like linseed oil. It is available in most stationary stores in the arts and crafts section.
